Fuck Joe the Plumber

No, I'm not talking about the "real" Joe the Plumber. Fuck him too, but for different reasons.

I'm talking about this "imaginary" Joe the Plumber that McCain talked about in last week's debate. (24 times! If you like Joe the Plumber that much, why don't you marry him? Nyah nyah!) I've used a few plumbers and I grew up across from a guy who was a plumber, and I can tell you that a LARGE percentage of plumbers out there are fucking scam artists. They are flat-out crooks.

Even the "honest" plumbers overcharge for trivial work. God forbid you might need one on a weekend or holiday. You're better off just bending over and shoving your phone up your ass. Not one of these tiny cell phones either. The old-fashioned kind you had to crank on the side. And then crank it and talk to the operator. With your colon. That would be more comfortable than getting a plumber call on a weekend.

If a plumber can't find a way to make it on $250,000 a year, well fuck him. Fuck anyone who complains about a tax increase on people who make over $250,000 a year. I can understand anyone who will have to pay more taxes being upset about it, everyone gets upset when the price of anything goes up. But if you make $250,000 a year, SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT. Be upset SILENTLY. Because the rest of us DON'T WANT TO FUCKING HEAR YOU BITCH. Take your $250,000 and buy yourself something to make you feel better.

Some of us are one more stock market "correction" away from fighting over squirrels in the back yard.

That is not very Libertarian of you. You think the government should have the right to just take your money and give it to some bum because they think it is "fair". Apparently you aspire to be some yokel that will let the government dictate your life and how much success you will achieve.

DuggleBogey said...

You're projecting again.

I don't see where I said it was "fair."

We all get fucked by the government. And yes, they have the "right" because that's the "law." If you don't think they have the "right" you're fucking retarded. Which is a suspicion, of course.

We all get fucked by the government. It's a fact. But if you're making $250,000, don't whine about it. Buy yourself another Mercedes and shut the fuck up.

StB said...

So when they take your car and give it to someone else to use that is fair too?

DuggleBogey said...

Dude, shut the fuck up. I already said it's not about "fair."

You need to stop being a fucking retard.

Riggstad said...

"fair" has nothing to do with it...

But your assertation that anyone who makes $250k a year should buy another mercedes and shut the fuck up IS retarded, and wreaks of jealousy.

These people aren't luckier than you, they worked their asses off for what they earned.

And it isn't about higher taxes. It's about the reason for those higher taxes.

Why should I have to pay more taxes, while those who earn less pay NO taxes because they only earn x amount. Then, with the "extra" taxes you collected from me you will give to the those with lesser incomes.

Work for 5 years, then tell me its ok for the goverment to take a years worth of that income to give to someone who only worked for 3 of those 5 years, doing a lot less than you.

Joe the plumber makes $250k because he overcharges? Fuck him, he should shut up and be thankful he earns that much?

You are clearly out of touch with what it takes to earn that type of money. The sacrifices, the workload, the risk. It aint luck, and it aint extortion.

It's responsibility, ambition, hard work, sacrifice, and a little risk taking.

I don't feel that its patriotic, as Biden suggests, to feel all warm and fuzzy about a government that believes that the most succesful people should foot the bill for those less inclined to work as hard.

DuggleBogey said...

I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. Don't try to tell me that every single guy who makes $250,000 does it because he "works harder" than people who make less.

A LARGE (VERY VERY LARGE) percentage of those people didn't get there on their own, they got there through luck or heritage. Their parents sent them to the right schools or they got a good break early in their lives. Some did, some didn't.

You mean to tell me my buddy who runs his own construction company didn't work as hard as some douchebag stock broker? Bullshit, my buddy worked his ass off before his business failed because of the housing crisis. You can say he made a bad decision to be in that business, but we both know that's bullshit, my buddy just got screwed.

I'm not saying they should be happy, I'm not saying it's fair. I'm just saying when a HUGE number of people are facing FINANCIAL RUIN, you should SHUT THE FUCK UP IF YOU'RE MAKING A QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS OR MORE.

Period.

Riggstad said...

A very very lare percentage???

LUCK???

You're a fucking idiot..

The very very large percetage is more skewed to those who worked their asses off. You have to get lulcky, yes, but you also take a considerable amount of risk as well.

Your buddy is the case in point.

I know because all of my associates and friends have done so. Everyone I have ever met has worked their asses off.

There are some who inherit or have daddy to provide a job, but that is not the norm.

You make the assumtion that some douchebag stock broker fell into that position.

I know douchebag stock brokers WHO DIED DURING 9/11, who worked their way into that profession.

Most do, they don't fall into it. And stock brokers make NOTHING unless they work for it.

You just keep showing your ignorance and complain about those who work harder and smarter than you, and FUCKING CRY about it.

The only bullshit being flung here is by YOU. And your moronic stance that those who have more have the responsibility to share with others. Regardless how they got it.

My father never made more than 30k a year in his life. I paid for my college. I worked my ass off for what I have.

Your whole argument is all people who make more than 250k a year are assholes because I don't.

They have it and I don't. They must tbe lucky.

You probably had your lunch money beaten out of you in school as well.

DuggleBogey said...

The fact that you're losing your temper over it proves your side of the argument is weak.

I work my ass off for what I have, and I know a SHIT TON of people who WORK THEIR FUCKING ASSES OFF, who DO NOT MAKE $250,000 a year.

You contend that the only reason is because their LAZY or STUPID? BULLSHIT!

I don't know ANYBODY who doesn't want to make $250,000 a year, or anybody who's not willing to WORK HIS ASS OFF or SACRIFICE his LEFT NUT to get a job that pays that much.

It's just not that easy unless you have a leg up or get very lucky.

I'm sick of motherfuckers who were born on third base and act like they hit a triple. Those motherfuckers can go fuck themselves.

Riggstad said...

Who's losing their temper?

You can spin as many generalities as you wish. It still won't cover the point that you feel entitled to something that someone else worked for. And then bash them because they "got lucky" to be able to earn it.

I don't judge anyone a living or career choice. I have best friends who are teachers and don't earn more than $50k a year. I have relatives that are mechanics and are lucky to bring in $40 a year.

These people chose their profession to fulfill their own personal desires. And these, responsible, intelligent, hard working people understand that others out there have chosen different paths, and have dfferent attributes, and that it doesn't mean that we should pay for their lack of earning power.

I already do btw. I just don't feel it necessary to pay more because someone else makes less.

Thats not what this country was built on.

Mondogarage said...

Who said this was about directly giving this to people who make less? We're spending $120 BILLION a year in Iraq -- in part (allegedly) to help those who make over a quarter million a year get to continue doing so. So why shouldn't those to benefit from the war get to pay more for the continued prosecution of that war?

After all, the wealthy are already paying a shitload of a lot less in terms of dead and maimed family members than the working poor.

DuggleBogey said...

So these friends and relatives of yours....are they lazy, or stupid?

Because according to you all it takes is hard work and good choices and they'd magically be making $250,000 per year!

It's a good thing for you that there are lazy and stupid people out there, otherwise you'd never get your kids taught and your car worked on!

Riggstad said...

Are you kidding Mondo?

for one, I'm talking about income redistribution, which is the platform that the dems are running on. Secondly, I served my country in the Marines. And you think the wealthy pay a lot less in terms of casuals in the war?? You think people who earn 250k are wealthy??

You think it doesn't effect them that there are Americans dying in a war because they are wealthy?

And duggles, continue to spin away.
They are my friends and family whom I love and respect. And I appreciate what they do for a living. The same as they appreciate what I do for a living.

Mondogarage said...

"You think it doesn't effect them that there are Americans dying in a war because they are wealthy?"

If it's not *their* family dying, then yeah, it doesn't affect them. The working poor are nothing but numbers and bodies to be utilized, by the same type of entitled wealthy who were behind sending them there for oil in the first place.

Absolutely the wealthy are far less negatively affected in this war, because the demographic makeup of the actual military members fighting there is far more heavily skewered to the poor and working classes than to the well off.

The fact you served in the Marines does not alter the immutable fact that the services demographics are skewed towards the lower income classes in America. And I, too, served, for three full enlistments in fact, so don't try to get all self-righteous about how you being the only one here who knows anything about service.

And continue to spin how the Dems are running their platform on "income redistribution", because that's nothing more than a Hannity talking point.

The last eight years have reflected a greater shift of overall American wealth FROM the middle class to the wealthiest 5% of Americans in history. I'm sorry, but the bill for that's come due. We don't want your money. However, the wealthy, who have benefited from the negligent deregulation of Wall Street on the backs of the middle class, now get to pay their fair share for fixing their mistakes.

If you don't like the impending Obama administration, Canada's just a bit to the north.

Mondogarage said...

Oh, I get it. I finally understand.

The Angry Right's fine with income redistribution, but only as long as it's up.

Where I come from, "trickle down" is piss headed into the toilet.

DuggleBogey said...

Yeah, no shit. Those guys that needed the SEVEN HUNDRED BILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT....were they working harder, or smarter?

Riggstad said...

Hannity talking point? How do you think Joe the plumber became famous? He interviewed with Sean Hannity? Oh Wait, that was Obama!

When asked about redistribution, Joe Biden replied that it was time to be patriotic.

$700 Billion dollar bailouts?
Negligent deregulation?

google commodity futures modernization act. That was the beginning of all this mess.

Everyone had their part.

I won't expect you to read the bill though. you'll just blame it on fox news as another talking point.

"A LARGE (VERY VERY LARGE) percentage of those people didn't get there on their own, they got there through luck or heritage."

You say Riggs makes generalizations about those smaller incomes as "stupid" and "lazy" but make an idiotic comment like that yourself.

DuggleBogey said...

"A LARGE percentage of plumbers are crooks" is a generalization too, Al.

I didn't say anything bad about generalizations. He did.

30% is a LARGE percentage, and that's a pretty accurate number.

Mondogarage said...

"Hannity talking point? How do you think Joe the plumber became famous? He interviewed with Sean Hannity? Oh Wait, that was Obama!"

Yes, he spent three minutes talking with Obama. Three minutes that the entire Republican press decided to do a full court press with. It wasn't Obama who mentioned Joe the non-plumber lifetime Republican 20 times in the debate. Sorry, it wasn't Obama that made him famous, it was the Rovian untruth machine employed by your horse.

But I don't expect you to allow the truth to dissuade you, so keep on with your storytelling, that's cool.

There is certainly enough blame from a legislative standpoint to go around to both parties. However, it's only the Republicans who are actually trying to pass the blame off entirely on all the working class urban (read "black" and "they don't look at things like you and I do") for getting mortgages they couldn't afford.

I'm certain it was your average inner city home buyer who securitized that mortgage 30 times over as shaky collateral, yup.

And yet it's your horse who really wants to be socialist and buy up all those mortgages to save the bankers. Okay, I get it. But hey, if you want to move more jobs over to India, and then blame the working class for the fact your share price isn't high enough to kick in your stock option, have at it.
