You'd be amazed at the folks that try to fake their way into this. One guy created a blog and faked the dates to say he signed up months ago. The only problem with his scheme was that according to his blog he registered in February for the tourney which wasn't announced until March, and according to blogger.com, his blogger account was created in April. Nicely done.
