They Gave Up

The weather predictors here in Tennessee have gotten it SO wrong SO often lately that they have completely given up predicting the weather.

I just watched a local news station give the current weather for the area west of here and say "It might come this direction." That's the best they can do now, they are unwilling to commit to any actual predictions.

I guess that's what happens when you miss the forecast by 20 degrees or more 5 out of the last 10 days.

I have determined that Microsoft, politicians and weathermen have the great ability to completely miss the mark and still keep their well paying jobs. With all of this truview, doppler, high res sat, and Madame Beaulia reading tea leaves, I still have more faith in my uncle Ralph's knee as a weather predictor.

Funny thing about weathermen, the better they get at forecasting the more they have to worry about the potential for getting sued someday because someone took their word for it and got hurt or injured when the prediction was wrong.

Think about it. If weathermen were accurate almost to the point of having it down to a science, then if they didn't predict something bad happening they would face litigation. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't scenario.

The weathermen around here in Colorado can't seem to get it right most of the time either.
